The Iraq Energy EPC Intelligence Platform is Uruk Engineering & Contracting Co. LLC's internal BD intelligence system. It automatically monitors Iraq's energy sector around the clock and surfaces the tenders, contracts, and market signals that matter to Uruk's business.

No technical knowledge is needed to use it. Open the link, search for what you are looking for, and the platform does the rest.

## What Does It Do?

The platform pulls live information from Iraq's Ministry of Oil, Ministry of Electricity, the World Bank, major trade publications (MEED, Reuters, Iraq Business News, Iraq Oil Report), and procurement portals — all at the same time, every time you search.

It then uses AI to:
- **Rank results** so the most urgent, actionable tenders appear first
- **Verify** that high-priority items are genuine procurement opportunities, not noise
- **Write a plain-English brief** for each opportunity — what the EPC scope is, who the likely prime contractor is, and what sub-packages are available

Each card shows the opportunity title, source, sector, location, stage, companies mentioned, and a link directly to the original document or article.

Every 3 hours the platform runs 14 standard queries in the background. Any HIGH-urgency item it finds that is not already in your list gets saved automatically and appears in the Saved Leads tab. Check the Procurement Tier badge on each auto-saved lead — urgency is keyword-based and may occasionally include general news; VERIFIED and PROBABLE tier badges indicate a genuine procurement signal.

**Can I export my saved leads?**
Yes. Click **⬇ Export CSV** on the Saved Leads tab toolbar. This downloads a 15-column spreadsheet including all procurement intelligence metadata. The file opens correctly in Excel.

**Can I print a report?**
Yes. Every major tab has a **🖨 Print Report** button in the toolbar. Clicking it opens a formatted A4 report in your browser's print dialog — select your printer or choose "Save as PDF" to download. Available for: AI Insights, Contract Awards, Pipeline Tracker, Opportunities, and Saved Leads. Each report includes the Uruk header, generation timestamp, summary statistics, and an internal-use confidentiality footer.

**What is the Watchlist for?**
A shortcut list. Add any keyword you want to track and re-run it with one click instead of typing it each time. Keywords that match tracked projects automatically show the project lifecycle stage and award probability.

**Can I add notes to saved leads?**
Yes. Click the notes area on any saved lead card and type directly. Notes are saved automatically.

**What is the Project Memory?**
A database that builds automatically as you search. Every time a project name is detected in search results, the platform records a lifecycle event and advances the stage and award probability. The Project Memory tab shows the full timeline for every tracked project.

**How does the Project Pipeline avoid becoming stale?**
The platform uses a two-stage update process. First, the background refresh (every 3h) detects stage changes from news searches (English and Arabic sources) and records them in D1. Second, the Claude Haiku analyst (every 8h) reads those D1 stage advances — alongside live headlines — and applies confirmed updates permanently to the pipeline. Stage changes accumulate and are never lost. The analyst also permanently removes projects where a source explicitly confirms contract award + construction started, completion, or cancellation.

**Why do the confidence scores look lower than other platforms?**
Deliberately. The confidence model is calibrated to Iraq’s actual EPC award rates — not optimistic global averages. For example, EPC Tender projects show ~62% confidence because Rystad Energy data shows only 62% of Iraq EPC tenders actually reach contract award (budget freezes and political disruptions cancel the rest). Over time, the platform computes Brier scores from its own D1 data to verify and refine these probabilities against actual Iraq outcomes.

**What is a Brier score?**
A statistical measure of probability accuracy. A Brier score of 0 is perfect, 0.25 is no better than random guessing. As the platform accumulates real Iraq project outcomes in its `confidence_log` table, the calibration endpoint (`/api/intelligence?mode=calibration`) will show how well the confidence model matches reality — and identify which stages need adjustment.

**Do Arabic headlines get translated?**
Yes. Arabic-language results from INA, Shafaq Arabic, Al-Sabah, and Al-Mada are automatically detected and batch-translated by Claude Haiku before scoring. The translated English text is used for all processing; the original Arabic title is preserved in the data.
